CASISDEAD Biography by Andy Kellman CASISDEAD is the oft-masked alter ego of a British rapper who is stern and unflappablewhether he's rhyming over boom-bap, synthwave, drum'n'bass, or vintage slow jams.Representing Tottenham, he first appeared in themid-2000s asCastro Saint--alternatelyCastroandCas--and after a few years of activity left music for half adecade, only to reappear in 2012 as CASISDEAD. Prolific over the next couple years, heissued a flurry of singles, the grim "All Hallows'" among it, that was compiled on the2013 mixtape TheNumber 23. A collaboration withGiggson the 2016 single "501(Hollow & Heston)" put him in the U.K. Top 40 for the first time. After a steady flow ofsingles over the next several years,CASISDEAD delivered his unrelenting Top Ten debutalbum,Famous Last Words, in 2023.
